LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Future in Tech (FiT), a provider of information governance and document lifecycle management, proudly announces the appointment of the Honorable Carlos Del Toro, 78th Secretary of the Navy and Marine Corps, to its Board of Directors. A distinguished leader in national security, innovation, and strategic modernization, Secretary Del Toro brings decades of experience in both the public and private sectors to support FiT's continued growth and mission to redefine digital governance.

From 2021 to 2024, Secretary Del Toro led the Department of the Navy, which includes the Marine Corps, overseeing nearly one million service members and civilian personnel, and a $261 billion budget. He also spearheaded the most significant modernization initiative in half a century. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate and decorated Surface Warfare Officer, Del Toro's visionary leadership spanned operational, technological, and geopolitical domains.

Through his General Counsel, Secretary Del Toro had oversight responsibility over 1,000 lawyers, that included uniformed members of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGs), the legal arm of the Navy and Marine Corps responsible for providing legal advice, prosecution, and defense services, as well as civilian lawyers responsible for numerous acquisition, regulatory and other responsibilities at the Department.

Beyond public service, Secretary Del Toro is also a successful entrepreneur and technologist, having founded SBG Technology Solutions, an award-winning engineering and IT firm, and currently serving as President and CEO of Del Toro Global Associates, where he advises on national security, cyber, and emerging technologies.

"Secretary Del Toro brings a level of strategic insight, mission-driven leadership, and technical depth that is rare," said Jules Buenabenta, CEO of FiT. "His decades of service across the public and private sectors, combined with a deep understanding emerging technologies, makes him an invaluable advisor as FiT continues to expand into national security, legal, and regulated markets."

Secretary Del Toro joins Galina Datskovsky, Ph.D., CRM FAI on the board of FiT. "I am excited to have Secretary Del Toro join us in our mission to make FiT the leader in Information Governance. I look forward to his strategic insights and his contributions to the continued success of the organization," said Datskovsky.

At FiT, Secretary Del Toro will advise on key initiatives related to cyber security, compliance moderation, AI-driven governance, and government partnerships. His appointment underscores FiT's continued investment in seasoned leadership to guide its next stage of growth.

"I'm thrilled to join the Board of FiT and support their mission to empower organizations with modern, resilient, and ethical data governance," said Secretary Carlos Del Toro. "Information is the currency of power in today's world, and FiT is uniquely positioned to help clients protect it, manage it, and unlock its potential."

Secretary Del Toro’s addition to the Board brings unmatched insight into complex organizational ecosystems, regulatory landscapes, and long-term mission execution. His longstanding relationships open doors to transformative partnerships, while his leadership reflects FiT’s deepening commitment to institutions operating in high-stakes, compliance-driven environments, from federal agencies to global law firms and Fortune 500 enterprises. Together, FiT and Secretary Del Toro are building the future of trusted information governance.
